Sandra Fernandez is a strategic communications leader, storyteller, and community builder based in Houston. She currently serves as Director of Public Relations at Legacy Community Health, where she leads earned media strategy and helps amplify stories that advance health equity across the region.
With nearly 30 years of experience in public relations, media relations, and digital engagement, Sandra has built campaigns for major organizations including Visit Houston, BakerRipley, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, and the Houston Public Library. Her work blends strategy with cultural awareness—ensuring messages connect with diverse audiences in meaningful, measurable ways.
Sandra is also the founder of Story Zone Media, now focused on community-driven storytelling projects including Hispanic Houston and Spotlight Houston. A longtime advocate for thoughtful, strategic content (not trends for trend’s sake), she has been part of Social Media Day Houston since its earliest years and continues to champion practical, real-world strategy for builders, business owners, and nonprofit leaders.
She believes social media works best when it’s intentional, human, and rooted in purpose.
